1. He graduated from Austin High School and then subsequently attended the Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin 
2. He has spent 26 years playing with the Austin Lyric Opera 
3. At the age of 22, he toured with the Turtle Island Quartet 
4. As part of his commitment to community service, Taylor presents Strings Attached in a series of Austin-area school informances called American Roots, which exposes kids to various composers and musical styles comprising the "roots" of American music today 
5. He has appeared with Strings Attached on Austin City Limits sharing the stage with Rock group, Pearl Jam
