5 things you might not know about Chris Maresh:
1. Some of Chris' influences include Ron Carter, Scott Lafaro, Jaco Pastorius, and John Paul Jones
2. He holds a degree in Applied Double Bass Performance with an Emphasis in Jazz performance from the University of Texas in Austin
3. In 2002, 2005 and 2006 Chris was named "Bass Player of the Year" at the Austin Chronicle Music Awards at the SXSW Music Festival
4. He had done recordings for movie soundtracks such as Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids 2" and "Once Upon A Time in Mexico," Nora Ephron's "Michael," Mark Illsey's "Happy Texas," and Peter Howitt's "Sliding Doors"
5. He has performed with guitar legend Eric Johnson for over and his side project "Alien Love Child" for 10 years and was nominated at the 44th Grammy Awards for Best Pop Instrumental of his composition, "Rain"
